Barnyard Chorus
Barnyard chorus is a game based on phonics practice.
Material neededdrawing Paper crayons Step1Have children draw animals, such as cow, dog, hen and cat on the paper, ask children to name animals and imitate the sounds these animals make. Step2Explain to the children that they will pretend to be a chorus of animals. Let each child choose which animal they'd like to act.Step3Instead of singing the songs with words, they will sing using animal sounds, such as woof, moo, cluck, oink, quack, and meow. Guide children to Pronounce "ow","oo", "u",etc.Step4Have the group decide on several kinds of animals they would like to have in the chorus. Then invite each child to choose one of these animals to be. Ask them to gather together in their animal groups. Then suggest a traditional tune to sing all the way through, and let the oinking and clucking begin!
