Flannel board craft involves children to create characters on flannel board from their favorite story.

Material you will need

Paper

Markers

Scissors

Construction paper

Glue

Sandpaper

Instruction:

Step1:

Ask your child to talk about his or her favorite stories. Have he or she tell you what are names of people and animal in the story, what the people or animals do or say in the story. What's the relationships between people or animals in the story.

Step2:

Let your child draw pictures of the characters and make flannel board pieces to use for story telling. Encourage your kid to use his or her imagination to draw a personally picture.

Step3:

Cut out the drawings, and let your child glue them onto construction paper. Then help him or her to glue a strip of sandpaper on the back to attach the storybook character onto the flannel board.

Step4:

Encourage your kid to use his or her personally drawn pieces to retell his or her favorite tales.

Variation:

You child now can enjoy life-size storyboard characters from story. Cut three holes in poster board in the proper place for child's face and hands go through. Have your child draw features and clothes on the poster board and wear the character.
