#16 Among Fun Baby Games --- Turn over picturesThis is one of good fun baby games which develops your baby's awareness on the concept "over", develops his eye and hand coordination and association skills, enhance his vocabulary and build independence and confidence in your baby. PreparationChoose five colorful pictures of things, such as a ball, a house, a bird, a baby and a dog. You may cut the pictures from magazine, then glue them on card boards. Or use flash cards. Place them on a flat surface in a row with all of the picture facing up. Play Instruction Slowly turn the first picture on the left over and say the word "over". Tell your baby that you have turned the card over to find the picture. Help and encourage your baby to turn the second card over. Stress the word "over" and tell your baby the name of what is on that picture. Do the same for the other four pictures, encourage your baby to turn the others over to find the other pictures. Repeat this game several times, meanwhile encourage your baby to play this game independently. At another time, you may choose some other pictures as substitutes for this game. Often play this game will help to increase your baby's vocabulary, as well as teach him a concept of "over".
#17 Among Fun Baby Games ---- In and OutThis game helps your baby to name objects, enhances the senses of touch in him, develops your baby's eye and hand coordination, and an awareness of the concepts "in" and "out", builds independence and confidence in your baby. PreparationPlace five objects such as a block, a cup, a spoon, a small stuffed animals or your baby's favorite small toy in front of the baby. Name the object s one at a time and have your baby hold and touch each one before you place it in a shoe box. Play InstructionFirst Step: remove the block from the box and hand it to your baby. Tell your baby that you took the block out of the box. Stress the word "out". Instruct your baby to put the block back in the box. Stress the word "in". Repeat the same procedure for the other objects. Second Step: When all of the objects are back in the box, encourage your baby to find the block in the box and hand it you. Help your baby if he doesn't understand, pick up the block and hand it to your baby as you say the word "block". Then Tell your baby :" Block is out of the box", stress the word "out". Encourage your baby to say the word "block" . Then guide your baby to put the block back in the box. Then tell your baby:" Block is back in the box". Stress the word:"In". Do the same procedure for the other objects. Make sure that you stress the words "in" and "out" and praise your baby for any positive response that he makes. Third Step: At another time, choose some another objects substitutes for this game.
#18 Among Fun Baby Games ----- The face and head gameThis game develops your baby's sense of touch, his eye and hand coordination, association skills, develops your baby's listening skill, reinforces his language development, build an awareness of left and right, builds confidence in himself. PreparationTouch your baby's head with your hand and slowly move your hand from the neck to the left side of his hand, across the top and down to right side of his head to the neck. This will give your baby feeling of the outline of his head. Tell your child that you have moved your hand around her head. Play InstructionDraw a large circle or oval on a blank piece of paper and tell your child that you are drawing a picture of her head. Gently touch your child's left eye and tell him that you are going to draw a picture of his eye. Draw the left eye in the proper place on the drawn face. Touch your baby's right eye and do the same as with the left eye. Touch your baby's nose, name it and draw it on the drawn face. Touch your baby's mouth and name it as you draw it in place; then make his mouth smile. Tell your baby that you have drawn a happy face on the paper. Then follow the same procedure to draw your baby's left and right ears, naming and talking about them as you draw. Next, take your baby's pointer finger and trace around the outline of the drawn head. Touch the left eye, then touch the right eye, naming them as you touch them. Touch and name then nose. Then touch and name the smiling mouth. Next touch the left and tight ears as you name them.
#19 Among Fun Baby Games ----- Cotton Reels FunThis game allows your baby to have free exploration, develops his awareness of rhythm pattern 1-2, eye and hand coordination, builds independence in himself. PreparationSelect an assortment of cotton reels and leave time to your baby to explore them, If your baby does not appear an interest in them, show your child to look at, feel, push, roll, tap or stack and knock them down, and then allow him to play with cotton reels again independently. Play InstructionFirst of all, choose another time, encourage your child to bring two reels together and tap out of rhythm of 1-2, 1-2. Encourage him to tap the reels while you clap your hands. Some time during the week, show your baby how to stack the reels into sets of two. Your child may stack them higher than two, if this occurs, politely suggest that he'd better make his the same as yours. However, if he insists on stacking the reels her own way, allow him to do so and try again later. Secondly, roll a cotton reel with your baby together, make them back and forth to each other. Your child may also be interested in stringing or threading the reels together. They can be strung with string or wool. A pipe cleaner can be twisted to make a needle. Thread the string or wool through the eye of the needle and secure the first cotton reel for your baby with a large knot or a piece of tape. Show your child how to string the reels and motivate him to try it independently. Praise your child for any positive actions.

Name each items for your baby and instruct him to put them in the bag. have your baby empty the bag and repeat the process. Variation 1At another time, place these items in different areas in the room in clear view of your baby. Name one of the objects and ask your baby to place it in a bag. Continue with this procedure until all of the items have been located and place in the bag. Variation 2 Choose some other items that are familiar to your child, such as a stuffed animal, a small ball, a rattle, a small book, etc. Name each object for your child, and then instruct him to place these in the bag, one at a time, as you call them by name. Try to put them in a row and call them by name from left to right. Your child will benefit from this game if you play it often with your child. Remember to praise your baby for any positive actions he makes.

Preparation Assemble a plastic jar and lid, a saucepan with a matching lid, a show box and lid and several other things with matching lids. Make sure that the lids will be easy for the child to take off and replace Play instructionOnce the materials are assembled, present three of these containers to your baby and allow him to remove and replace the lids. Your assistance may be needed when your child is putting the correct lids on the containers. Make sure to allow the child to work on it independently. Variation 1 Change the type of containers throughout the week and encourage your child work independently whenever possible. Use a maximum of three containers at a time. Stress the words "on" and "off" as the lids are put on and taken off. Variation 2 Throughout the week, call your child's attention to other things that have lids. It may be in the bedroom, kitchen, bathroom or other places. This will serve to expand your child's awareness of things around him.
