#22 Among Fun Baby Games ----- Let's play ball

This is one of baby's favorite fun baby games, this game develops your baby's eye and hand coordination, skill in following directions, association skill on different uses for one object and language skill.

Preparation

Obtain a cloth ball or a rubber ball which about 15 centimeters in diameter. This size is perfect for your baby to grab it.

Play Instruction

Sit with your child on the floor, avoid carpeted area, then roll the ball to your child, keep rolling in a short distance. Observe your child's response? Does he watch the ball, does he try to reach the ball? Encourage your child to catch the ball as it is rolled to him. Repeat this game often, it will help to develop your child's skill in watching and receiving a ball. Praise him for any positive action he makes

Variation

This game develops your child's leg, foot and eye coordination, improves his language interaction, builds concentration and independence in your child.

Preparation

The lines one a tiled floor, masking tape, wool or string placed in a straight line on the floor can be used for this game. The line space should be approximately one and a half meters long.

Play Instruction

Walk on the designated straight line while your child watches you. Then encourage him to walk on the straight line. Help your children to set his imagination free. Tell your child to pretend that the line is a to go across the water without getting water. Explain that a bridge allows people to go across the water without getting wet. Help and make sure your child understands that this is like a game and if he steps off the line, then he will get wet.

Instruct your child to put one foot in front of the other so that the heel of one foot touches the toe of the other foot. If your child have no confident in walking, hold his hand as he walks on the line.

#24 Among Fun Baby Games ---- Look at me

This game develops your baby's awareness of the body shape, skill in associating the outline with herself, his awareness of a specific color and its name; enriches his language; develops eye and hand coordination.

Play Instruction

Lay your child down on a large sheet of white blank paper. Use a crayon and quickly trace around your baby's body. Then have your child get up and look at the shape of his body on the paper. Say to the child, "Look how big you are."

Use a crayon or felt marker and draw a left eye on the paper. Then draw a right eye. Ask your child what they are. As you draw the nose and smiling mouth, have your child name them also. Ask your child what left and right ear should be. Praise your child for any positive response he makes.

Variation 1

Call your child by name, and instruct him to find the eyes, nose, mouth and ears. Observe your child's response. Does he point to the eyes on the paper or her own eyes?

Variation 2

Look at the child's clothing and name the main color that your child is wearing. Ask your child to find that one color among the crayons that you have been using. Emphasize that the color chosen is the same color that is found on his clothing. Notice: Use only one color at this time. Then allow your child to color the cloth on the paper, help your child if he doesn't know how to color appropriately.

Preparation

Collect a bell, a marble that is in a closed metal container, water in a small closed plastic container that is not full.

Play Instruction

Ring the bell and say "bell". Roll the marble around in the container and say "marble". Swish the water around in the closed plastic container and say "water". Do this several times and encourage your child to say the name of each things after you as you make the sound respectively.

Variation 1

At another time, put the containers behind the sofa or something that will hide the three containers. Notice that the place you choose to hide the containers must easily can be reached by children.

Choose one container and make a noise with it. Ask your child to find the one that made the sound. Continue to play this game and praise any positive response he makes.

Variation 2

Choose three other different things and tell your child to close his eyes while you make a sound with one of the materials. Help your child to point to the correct one. Often play this game, your child will be soon aware of specific sounds throughout the house and outside.
