Cover the stuffed animal again and repeat the process. Do this until your child is able to name the moving stuffed animal. Continue with this procedure until your child can readily identify all three covered objects when they are moved.

Play this game as long as the child appears to be interested. Vary the game at another time by changing the thee objects and wiggling the string "snake fashion" as you pull the strings one at a time.

Gather some vanilla, a little cold coffee and some apple juice. Pour a little each on separate pieces of cotton. Show your child the original container for each liquid. Have your child sniff and smell each of the liquids. Then name them.

Play instruction

1) Allow your child to smell the vanilla and ask him to point to the correct container. Continue to repeat this game until your child is successful or loses interest. Praise your child for any positive action he makes. At another time, use orange juice, tomato juice and vinegar, then repeat the procedure.

#29 Among Fun Baby Games ---- Let's go fishing

You will find that this is a difficult game among fun baby games. However, playing this game will develop your child's eye and hand coordination, problem solving skill, your child's awareness of the different material used for "fish".

Preparation

Obtain a large empty tin can with a plastic lid. Attach a 30-centimeter string to a clothes peg. Cut a hole in the plastic lid, a little larger than the clothes peg. Place the lid on the can.

Play Instruction

Lower the attached clothes peg through the hole of the plastic lid and hold on to the string. Pass the string to your child with the attached clothes peg, and tell your child to pull the string and lift the clothes peg up through the hole. Allow your child to discover the way to solve the problem. If he has difficulty, help him in lifting the clothes peg through the hole. Be sure to praise and encourage your child for any action he makes.

Variation

Different objects of similar size may be substituted and lifted through the hole in the same manner. A different lid may be used if some of the objects are too large for the present hole. Your child should be encouraged to work independently.

#30 Among Fun Baby Games ---- My new house

This game develops your child's language interaction, fine and gross motor coordination, an awareness of "outside", "inside" and "open", "close".

Preparation

Obtain a large box which you think it's suitable for making a cardboard house. Draw and cut a door large enough for the child to go in and out easily. If you want the door to open and close, leave the left side of the drawn door intact. A doorknob can be made with a cotton reel fastened with a log bolt and nut that will fit through the cotton reel and cardboard. Alternatively, cut a round hole a little larger than the child's finger so that the hole will be a substitute for a doorknob. Use masking tape to tape over any tough edges. Draw and cut out two or more windows, and encourage the child to help you decorate the outside of the house with felt markers.

Preparation

Invite your child to go inside his new house. Once your child becomes familiar with the house, he will enjoy going in and out of the house. He can be taught to wave "bye-bye" each time that he goes in the house. Also, it is a good time to teach your child the concept of "inside" and "outside". When your child attempts to close the door of cardboard house, "open" and "close" should be introduced by you. You may find your child begins to carry objects back and forth to his new house, since children of this age enjoy carrying objects around from place to place. If he gets tired, he may even take a nap in his house.
