Lucky Number Game Active Game For Number Recognition
Lucky number game allows children to practice number recongnition from 1 to 10.
Material NeededLarge cards Markers Step 1:Respectively write the numbers 1-10 on each large cards. If there are more children, you need to make two or three sets of the number card in order to be at least one card for one child. Spread out the number cards on the floor, leave enough space between the cards for the children to move around. Step 2:Before starting the game, explain the rules of game to the children that they will be walking in between the numbers and everyone has to walk in the same direction. Listen carefully, when they hear "Lucky Number X", eveyone must quickly stand on X number card. Step3:Having the children stand in a line and leave about an arm's distance between each other. Then say "Walk, walk, walk. Everyone walk in and out, round and about, walk, walk, walk. Lucky number X!" At this moment, children need to move to X number card and stand on it as quick as possible. Step4:After children stand on their numbers. Have each child name his or her number to see if it is the lucky number. Then regroup children into a line, and repeat the game by using different movements, such as skips, hop, gallop, march and crawl. VariationPlay this game by using music with a beat instead of voice commands. Have the children move while the music plays, when the music stops, children have to stand on a number card. You still need to say "Lucky Number X" as a sign for them to stop.
