Musical Partners
Musical partners is a dancing game where partners don't dance together, it allows children to dance far away an then come back again.

Material NeededMusic audio-cassette player InstructionStep1Have the children choose their dance partners. Explain to children that they will dance away from their partners instead of dancing together.Step2Ask the partners to stand waiting for the music to start. Once the music starts, they can dance by skipping, hopping, jumpping, or moving to the music any way they like. During the dancing, ask the children to move farther and farther away from their partners.Step3When the music stops, the children must go back to their partners as quickly as possible.TipsTo simplify, start by suggesting the kind of movement the children should make. Then have the whole group jump, march, or dance away from their partners.
VariationsCreate a beat with a drum or rhythm sticks instead of music, encourage the children to dance away and come back again in slow motion.
