My aunt tommy

My aunt tommy is a call-and-response game which is good for both action and giggles on the kids party.

Step1:

Ask the children to stand up and form a circle. Have one child be the caller about Aunt Tommy, see below:

Caller: My Aunt Tommy went to the park

Group: How did she go?

Caller: My Aunt Tommy went to the park like this [Demonstrates action]

Group: [Repeats action]

Step2:

Ask the other children to answer together as a group with the question. The first child responds, and acts a body movement,

such as jump, wiggle, twirl, or silly action. Then all the group joins in and acts the same movement.

Step3:

Then have a new child begin the call-and-response all over and comes up with a new movement for the group to copy; but for this time, group does both movements which are the first one and current one.

As new callers add movements, have the children repeat all movements cumulatively. For keeping this game simple, ask the children to add only one new movement to the first one.

Tips

Keep your party fun, make sure the children do not feel pressured to remember the cumulative dance of movements.
