Learn Counting And Subtraction

Number story game involves the children in acting out a story

Step 1:

Invite 10 children to form a group, help them practice counting things around them to warm up.

Step 2:

Before starting, explain the rules to children that they have to do what the story says, and then count to find out the remaining number. Blow is the story, have children practice one or two lines so they will catch the idea.


Ten friendly children standing in a line, one went home and then there were nine.


Nine happy children hopped to the zoo, seven fell down and then there were two.


Two lonely children sitting by the gate, six more joined them and then there were eight.


Eight lively children skipped around a tree, five ran away and then there were three.


Three tried children lie on the floor, one more flopped down and then there were four.


Four bored children waiting and then, the six came back and there were ten.

Note:

Modify the story to fit situation and number of children. If there are more than the children,divide them into two groups. For less than ten children, have them hold up their figures to act the characters.
