Rainbow song craft is a fun group craft for preschoolers to distinguish color and practice listening skills

Material you will need

1.5" grosgrain ribbon in red, yellow, blue, green, orange, purple

Scissors

Instruction:

Step1:

Have children use all the colors of ribbon, facilitate them to cut ribbons into 18-inch streamers. Give each child one streamer.

Step2:

Teach children to wave the streamer whenever they hear its color mentioned in the song below

Sing this song to the melody of "Twinkle,Twinkle Little Star"

Rainbow,rainbow in the sky,

with your colors way up high

You're so beautiful to see,

Come and play a games with me,

When you hear a color name,

waver the color that's the same

Yellow, red, and blue so bright,

Green and orange-what a slight!

Mix in purple and some blue,

Here come green and yellow,too

Orange, red, and purple fly,

Make a rainbow in the sky.

Step3:

Let children exchange streams so they have a new color to weave. Repeat the activity
